How “hard” is set in this book: by the number of starting clues, held at 28 from the first page to the last. That is four fewer than 1000+ Medium Sudoku Puzzles and eight fewer than 1000+ Easy Sudoku Puzzles, so there is more of the grid to work out and more call for pencilled candidates. Clue count is a rough guide rather than a promise about which techniques a particular grid will need — Sudoku difficulty levels explained covers what else decides it, with a printable example of each level.
